SUBSCRIPTIONS POLICY
At Zapp! Comics, we offer a computerized reservist
system for customers that want to be assured of no missing a title.
Why should I become a reservist?
Because being a member of the reservist club is the best way to be certain
that you’ll get all the comics you collect! By joining our
reservist system you let us know how many of an issue to order and you’ll
be certain to get the books you want!
How much does it cost to become
a member?
It’s FREE! We just require that you pick up your comics
in a timely fashion(at least every 2 weeks). We will make other arrangements
if you need to pick up your comics less frequently.
How does the Zapp! Reservist system
work?
Simply fill out the Reservist form and we do all the rest! Once
you fill it out and return the form we’ll assign you a reservist
number. Every Wednesday, we pull them comics you request and file them
in your reservist box. All we ask is that you remember your box number
when you come in.
How many titles do I have to subscribe
to?
We have no minimums; subscribe to whatever you like. However, we prefer
that, if you like to scan the racks as well, only subscribe to titles
that are a little out of the mainstream or that we might not normally
order very heavily on.
Is there a discount?
As store policy, Zapp! Comics does not discount new comics. We do offer
out extremely popular Zapp! frequent customer card. The economics of
selling new comics really does not allow for discounting. There is simply
not a large enough profit margin to offer flat discounts and also cover
our overhead and pay our hard-working staff a decent wage. After nearly
12 years in the business, we've seen dozens of competitors try to compete
by discounting their new comics heavily AND THEY'VE ALL GONE OUT
OF BUSINESS. Instead of competing on price, we will work very, very
hard for you to compete on selection and service. Come in and
talk to us for more details...
What if there's a book I didn't
order in the box?
No problem, just let us know and we will correct it. We are human and
errors can happen.
What if I need to add or drop a title?
It's simple. Just let us know right away at the front counter, or send
us an e-mail. Please keep in mind that we order titles 2 months in advance,
so we may ask you to honor the purchase of something specifically ordered
for you.
What about mini-series and specials?
We will automatically put the first issue of any mini-series related
to a title on your list. You're not obliged to purchase it. If you do
decide that you want the rest of that mini-series, please let us know.
Are there other benefits? All reservists receive the Previews catalog,
if they desire, at our cost, or, possibly free. Also, any limited variant
covers or allocated items are always offered to reservists first and
at well-below store price.
Do you ask for credit card information?
No. At this time, we do not require a credit card on file unless an
arrangement for shipping your books(we do that, too) or very infrequent
visits has been set up. We do, however, require non-refundable deposits
on special-order merchandise.
What do I do when I want to cancel
my reserve box?
Please tell us. We're human and we understand that some things in life
can take precedence over comic books, like rent, car, food. We expect
you to honor your commitment to purchase any titles that we are holding
for you up to that point. Most importantly, let us know immediately
when you need to make a change.
How do I sign up!
Just stop by the store and pick up a reservist form at the front register,
o On the form is a list of some of the more popular title currently beginning
published. From time to time we update the list but if you collect something
that’s not on the list simply use the allotted extra line to add
them.
